Find your way to this park!

Palmer Park

Just when we thought the sunshine was on the way, mother nature decided to send us some winter weather. No worries Detroit! Palmer Park, located at 910 Merrill Plaisance, boasts a 296-acre complex teeming with historic woodlands which gives visitors a shady cover from the elements.

Founded in 1895 with the motto, “Palmer Park is a park for all regardless of race, creed, color, sex or religion” this location has been providing recreation and enjoyment for its visitors for over 125 years.

The park features 2 playground areas, volleyball and tennis courts, basketball, softball, fitness equipment, outdoor pavilion, splash park and both paved and unpaved trails. I must warn you to bring a pair of boots if you plan to venture off the beaten path!

Today at the park I met with Vanessa and Bobby, members of the Charlotte Mason Community School located a few blocks from Palmer Park as they escorted the students over to the playground.
