Planet Detroit’s Neighborhood Reporting Lab is where community reporters write about health and climate issues in their neighborhood. Neighborhood Reporting Lab is supported by the Americana and Kresge Foundations.
Detroit’s parks are not just patches of green but essential parts of our urban landscape, providing spaces where wellness, culture, and nature converge.
Whether you’re looking for a vigorous afternoon hike or a peaceful morning walk, our city’s trails offer something for everyone. At Planet Detroit, we’re passionate about these spaces, their importance to our sense of community and belonging, and the formal and informal opportunities to enjoy this season in the sunshine and shade.
Planet Detroit’s Neighborhood Reporters will be popping up at events at each of these parks this summer and fall, chatting with our readers (that’s YOU!) and the wider community of Metro Detroiters about our neighborhoods, the environmental issues that matter to you and the ways Planet Detroit can contribute to your knowledge on health, wellness and the environmental issues that affect us all.
Here’s where we’ll be popping up this summer (so far)!
