Tiffany Jones leads Sacred Grounds, a program helping Detroit houses of worship build rain gardens and native plant habitat. The initiative addresses flooding while connecting faith communities to environmental stewardship.

Skyler Leslie grew up Downriver and now lives and works in District 6 in Detroit. With backgrounds in environmental justice and museum studies, she explores intersections of public history, environmental justice, natural area management, and heritage tourism in the Great Lakes. Driven by a desire to give back to the communities and places that raised her, joining the Neighborhood Reporting Lab will help her to to build her writing skills, deepen community connections, and provide a platform to uplift underrepresented stories.
